8/10
- surprisingly underwhelming menu but the overall ambiance and experience was great
- for one of our nights in Montreal, we decided to go fancy and try Restaurant H3’s 7 course tasting menu which was not only at a good price but also accommodating to my friends dietary restrictions of no beef
- the service and atmosphere was really great with enthusiastic and knowledgeable servers and frequent water and drink refills
- the actual courses however were a little underwhelming as each of them were slightly bland or colder in temperature than what I wish they could’ve been
- my favourite course was the pudding wrapped with seaweed with brioche course that had a great balance of sweet yet savoury flavours with a slight bit of umami from the fish roe
- the other courses were uninteresting to me but for around $100-$150 per person it was a great experience
- definitely recommend checking it out especially for their extensive drink menu and cocktail quality (one of the best espresso martinis we’ve ever tried)
