For my first experience of afternoon tea, the offering at the Fairmont Palliser in downtown Calgary was an excellent start. The ambiance of the Fairmont dining room added an extra layer of elegance to the occasion, making it feel both special and private due to its spacious layout.

As soon as the service began, our server presented us with a large box containing a variety of different teas. This personalized touch included sharing which teas were favored by various members of the British royal family, adding a delightful historical context to our choices. - Valentine’s Theme:
During my visit, the offerings were themed around Valentine’s Day, which I assume is similar to their regular menu. This seasonal theme added a charming and festive touch to the experience. - Quality of Pastries and Finger Foods:
The pastries and light finger foods, such as the sandwiches, were exceptional. Each item was flavorful and light, making for a perfect balance of taste and texture. - Exceptional Service:
Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, always available to answer any questions we had. She frequently checked in to top up our teapots with hot water, ensuring that our tea remained at the perfect temperature throughout our visit.
Overall Experience:
The overall experience was amazing. The setting of the Fairmont dining room, combined with the high quality of the food and the exceptional service, made this afternoon tea a memorable and enjoyable experience. It’s a perfect spot for those looking to indulge in a refined and relaxing afternoon.
