For my first stop for pastries in Paris, we stumbled upon Boulangerie Castellane, a charming little spot that provided a warm, family-like experience for fresh pastries.
Highlights:
- Welcoming Service:
The person behind the counter was incredibly kind and patient, even as a group of us took our time deciding what to get. This friendly service made the visit feel very welcoming and added to the overall pleasant experience. - Quality of Pastries:
The pastries were good—exactly what one would expect from a boulangerie in Paris. While they weren’t jaw-dropping, they met the high standards typical of Parisian pastry shops. - Standout Items:
- Croissants: The croissants were flaky and perfectly baked, embodying the classic French pastry experience.
- Pistachio Chocolate Escargot: This pastry was beautifully light, with a delicate balance of pistachio and chocolate flavors.
- Almond Scone: The almond scone was particularly notable, offering a richer and more flavorful experience compared to the escargot.
Overall Experience:
Boulangerie Castellane provides a delightful and authentic Parisian pastry experience with friendly service and quality offerings. While not every item was extraordinary, the overall visit was enjoyable and worth recommending, especially for those looking to explore local boulangeries in Paris.
